Lighting and camera columns for homes, driveways and estates
A proper column at the gate or along the drive, put up in a morning by one person. No crane on the lawn, no trench for a deep foundation, and the column will still be standing in 35 years.
- One person installs it, four bolts to a pad
- Aluminium, 6 to 12 kg, 35-year projected life
- Made in Bedfordshire, UKCA certified

What you get

- A lockable base door for the electrical connection
- Installation by us or your own electrician and groundworker
- A single column or a run of them along the drive

Why the installation is the point
On a private drive the column itself is rarely the expensive part. The cost is a contractor arriving with a lorry-mounted crane, digging a root foundation, and the two visits that takes. The Hardie Column removes all of it: a small pad or an existing slab, four anchor bolts, and one person to raise the column.
Because the collar hinges, the column can be lowered again to change the lantern, clean the camera or add a second flood. Nothing on a ladder, nothing hired.
- Do I need planning permission?
- Usually not for a lighting or camera column on your own land, but height, proximity to a boundary and listed-building or conservation status can change that. We will tell you what to check for your postcode.
- Can my electrician install it?
- Yes. The mechanical part is the pad, four bolts and raising the column; the electrical part is a normal outdoor connection in the base. We send the manual and the bolt template with every column.
- Will it look industrial?
- It is a slim satin aluminium column with a black collar, the same family used on new residential streets. Colour finishes are available to order.
